Sunday Funday Highlight Reel (and a few behind the scenes)

I think we had the busiest Sunday we have had yet since having Henry. We left the house at 7:45am for breakfast at one of our favorite places in town and didn't get home for the night until after 7:00pm. After breakfast we took a little walk down to the beach and played in the sand.

Henry and Da playin' with sticks and sand. If you look closely,
you can see the capitol building there in the background.

Henry thought climbing up and down the
lifeguard stand was the highlight of the day.

Henry and Da chillin' on the big chair.

This chair is super fun, people.

Then we went over to visit our newest little family member Gabriel.
He slept most of the time we were there, but he sure is cute!

As if I didn't have baby fever already.

Then it was off to a birthday party for our buddy Susannah. She turned one.
We met her when she was just one month old. It was great party...with BUBBLES!

Susannah shared her purple ball with Henry; they played
catch for awhile. Here they are comparing haircuts.

These are some of our PEOPLE here in Madison.
We sure are going to miss them when we move.

After the party we went over to some more of our peoples' house for wild rice burgers on the grill (Fitger's recipe mind you). We sat on the deck in the sunshine - a great way to end a great day.

Of course this is my weekend highlight reel; I'll refrain from going into the "behind the scenes" details about how Henry woke up at 2:40am on Saturday morning and NEVER. WENT. BACK. TO. SLEEP. Or about how he chewed right through his Nuk and now we are doing a few nights without the giraffe. (Yes, the giraffe that he can find in the dark in the middle of the night.) We have one shipping from Amazon today.

I'll also spare details about him screaming in the car seat all the way across town from the birthday party to the barbecue. And about how the most exciting thing we could think of doing during his car nap that afternoon was to go to Kohl's and buy a new coffee pot...we went into the store individually so one of us could sit in the car while Henry slept. It was really exciting. (hehe) And I should probably leave out these last two pictures, but they make me laugh too hard. He had to pause from all of his exploring on the beach to make this face; the one we refer to as 'the poop face' for obvious reasons. Sorry buddy, had to post 'em.

(I'm sharing some "behind the scenes" here inspired by my friend's post
My favorite is her face in the second picture down. Hilarious.)    :)
