Everything August

With Daddio back to work and Henry's regular caregivers out of the country for three weeks, we've been creative this August patching together time with each other and fun/safe places for Henry to go when we're at work. The highlight of the month seems to be the Pizza Train. About 20 minutes into the ride, Henry said, "Where's the train?" We assured him we were currently riding the train, and THEN he really started having fun. :)

Pizza trains have pizza on them (score!). Henry ate 

three full pieces of this pizza (he left only the crust of 

the third piece on his plate). His legs are hollow.

We've been seeing lots of buddies this month. We thought we'd dress these two up in matching undies and put them out on the deck with some buckets of water. Mamas were drinking wine, kids were splashing around for hours. Good times. 

I like to call this one, "Undie Buddies."

We've also been eating a lot of corn. It's just what we do. 

We didn't like it last summer, but now we all seem to really love it.

Henry got to spend a day adventuring with this sweetie pie and her parents.

They had fun I think. Henry didn't want to come 

home with me when I picked him up.

He also got to play all day with this sweet nugget. 

I'm pretty sure the only reason he got in my car at the end of this day

is because his cousins were with me. FUN TIMES!

And who enjoy a good controlled fire in the woods.

With all of these sweet ladies in his life, it just plain old FUN sometimes to escape to the northwoods and hide out on the Echo Trail with some BOYS! Henry's buddy Bo lives on the edge of the Boundary Waters and he has two brothers (!!!) and a big sister too. We spent 24 hours with them up in Ely. We cruised on their boat, enjoyed some swimming time, ate some yummy food, peed in the driveway, played with some trucks, got dirty and had a few jam sessions (in undies once again)...

Bo's dad is a firefighter and they got to visit the station and play 

in the trucks. So awesome. I also got to visit with Bo's mama, 

who I haven't seen much since our trip to Vermont in May. 

We have half of August still ahead of us and are excited to enjoy the last string of summer before the busyness of fall begins. What a fun month!!!
