Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall Festivities!

We said so-long to summer with our Annual Adults-Only State Fair Trip. We tried a shorter day this year, and it just didn't cut it. Next year we will return to our 12+ hour day there (yes, for real). We have strategy and an attack plan each year, which we implemented once again this year during our abbreviated day.

We always take the bus.
We always sit in the middle crease/crevice of the bus.

We took off sprinting from the start line and hit five different
foods in the first half hour. Pickles were first on the list.

Fried lobster and beer were up next.

Then mashed potatoes on a stick. This is our favorite (all four of us).
A corn dog later in the day (this might have been the second one).

Thumbs up for a bucket of cookies and "Prairie Home Companion."

As fall weather comes to our little city, so do a bunch of fun things to do. The first of these was yesterday - we hit up the Harvest Festival. Henry really wanted to get his face painted and he told the face paint lady he wanted to be a blue cat; she went with it.

Then we spent a good chunk of time rolling down the hill. (We know how to have a good time.)

Daddy giving Henry a little lesson in hill-rolling.

This kid could play all day with a hill.

Look at these blue-cat-like reflexes.

Seriously, all day.

Our iconic bridge.
(And I look like a giant.)

Good times! We've got ice cream on the agenda for tonight. Whoop-whoop! Happy Fall!
