Tree Sanctuary

We heard it was going to be HOT again today - in the 100's is normal these days. We wanted to check out the arboretum again so we took a quick trip before Henry's morning nap in order to beat the heat. What a cool place! We only hiked around for about an hour (that was plenty long for me carrying a Big Guy on my back). We found a few new things different from our last adventure there. Henry is nine months old today!

Besides the huge herd (pack?) of crazy-huge turkeys, Henry was most interested in the hairs hanging down on my neck. So I had to distract him with trees.

He still loves grabbing everything...so I just walked really close to the trees so he could reach all of the branches. I love this photo of his little hand reaching out to touch the leaf.

It was some good time for me to reflect on the past 9 months and on my gratitude for this life that is mine to live. Also to reflect on how lucky I am that I don't have to carry my 20+ pound baby on my back each day to get water on a round-trip of 6 miles or more.
