Summer Days

It's been a busy few days and an awesome start to our new adventure in Duluth. I'll likely be raving more about how much we love living here and, particularly, our new little neighborhood. As for this weekend...first, we hit up the rhubarb festival on Saturday because, really, why wouldn't we? 

Here are the guys meeting "Rhubarbara." Henry was intrigued. 

And understandably so...she was made out of swimming noodles.

And the highlight of the festival: RHUBARB BRATS. Duh.

Then we biked on further down to Canal Park. The bike trailer is even 

MORE fun when you get to ride with a cousin. Henry LOVED it.

Of course we had to throw rocks in the lake. Henry is getting GOOD.

Sunday morning we had a little family bike adventure to Lester Park and Brighton Beach and in the afternoon I went to help a friend (or, really, pretty much just to keep her company) at her booth at the Park Point Art Fair. I had fun chatting with her, pretending that I knew about wet felting when customers came in, and rearranging her displays to my liking. She is so talented. Here she is smiling even though while I was taking this she 

was lightly screaming in a high-pitched voice, "I feel DUMB!"

Then on Sunday we headed to visit our cousins in St. Cloud. We had a great few days on the lake and they took us to a SUPER COOL farm!

While his cousins were checking out the farm animals, Henry chased this bird for 

about three minutes. I have a series of pictures from these three minutes that make me laugh really hard. He is just pointing and running at the bird.

This was in the bird barn. You hold sticks with seeds stuck to them 

and the birds swarm you and land all over you and nip at you and shove their

little claws into your limbs. It freaked me out. Henry didn't like it either. 

Both of our cousins were brave though and had birds sitting all over them. There

are no pictures of us from this attraction because we probably looked

like we were going to cry the entire time. Super cool to watch though.

Then there was the huge slide. Henry is obsessed with slides as it is and this one put him over the top. He had this look of sheer terror every single time they went down (and that was about twelve). But every time they got to the bottom he would ask for more. So up they went again. Eleven times.
