We've had a crazy busy past few weeks and we are TIRED...so many great memories! After the weekend of our move-in (which included pushing large furniture up a ladder over the deck), we drove down to cousin Jack's first birthday.
He loved his cake. What a stud!
Then it was back to Madison for a few days for Jon's clinical year orientation and official "White Coat Ceremony." Here he is receiving his coat:
I'm so proud of him. He worked so dang hard this year. I can't believe how many hours he put into studying each and every day. Such an accomplishment to get to this half-way point.
Here's the gang...minus two toddlers and a set of twins.
Jon posing in the building in which he spent
almost every single day of the past year.
We headed back to Duluth after the ceremony and pulled into our new driveway about 11:00pm that night with eyes burning and bodies seriously exhausted. The next morning Henry woke up just after 6:00 and he and Jon headed down to the Grandma's Marathon racecourse just in time to see the lead elite runners. Here is Henry at his very first Grandma's race (if you don't count the year I was pregnant and ate two hot dogs while Jon ran the full marathon):
I'm thinking this will be the first of many future Grandma's races of which Henry will be part. This is about 30 steps down from our house. So cool to be so close!
Waiting for the super fast runners to cruise by.
Henry took a spill in the mud - we had to do a quick wardrobe change.
Auntie Lisa comin' in for some high-fives at the 7-mile mark.
She is so super fast!
The kiddos making a morning of spectating. It was SO COLD. Living so
close, we were able to bring our hot coffee right down to the course in mugs.
Almost all settled in now and looking forward to a home-cooked meal tonight...which I'm currently prepping to the beats of a Coltrane station on Pandora. Home sweet home.
