Forks in the Road

Henry hadn't been eating much about two weeks ago and while I was out one evening, Jon (aka SuperDad) figured it out. He wants to use utensils. Just like us. Big ones.

Boom.

The kid can't get enough. Look at those empty plates.
(And the simultaneous death grip on the gigantic forks.)

This makes me feel good - when my cooking is good
enough that he'll take a quick break from the utensils
to shove in a handful. That's my boy.

He's getting good. We're still throwing out guesses
about whether he is right- or left-handed.

Boo-yah, buddy.

He wants nothing to do with most food if I try to feed it to him. He is not, however, extremely coordinated with silverware yet - especially the large silverware that he prefers. Sometimes I'll just stab the food with his fork and then walk away nonchalantly and watch out of the corner of my eye as he shoves the gigantic fork into his rather small spaghetti hole. Whatever works. SuperDad, however, can hold an entire spoonful (we're talking big people spoonful here) of peas and carrots up to his mouth and Henry will lean forward almost over-exaggerating the opening of his mouth to attack the veggie goodness. Down the hatch.

Speaking of forks in the road and other "major choices of options" - we're moving to Duluth in June! It's a move we have talked for many years about making and it is finally becoming a reality. It's a little bit bittersweet as we have surely fallen in love with Madison. It is completely awesome at the same time. Woo-hoo!
